Works by Cindy Pease Roe
Opening Reception: Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 from 6:00 8:00pm.
Beauty = the whales. Beast = plastic marine litter.
This installation is about whales, the oceans and coastlines, and the threat of this beauty from marine plastic litter. It will include paintings as well as Cindy's UpSculpt whales and other creations, sculpted from marine litter.
Cindy's emphasis is on the beauty of the largest mammals in the world, whales, and will be contrasted with the marine litter: plastics, and the smallest of beasts: micro-plastics.
This show is designed to enlighten, delight and engage people through Cindy's folk-arty, playful style of sculpted whales made from this new art medium.
Education through art is a passion of Cindy's. Therefore, this show will also celebrate the future of this fragile, precious environment by informing, engaging and educating the public to become more aware of the use and disposal of plastics.
Cindy Pease Roe is an environment artist currently working in marine litter/plastics.
